ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 1, 2 & 3

Day 1: Chennai
Arrive at Chennai Airport where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon sightseeing of Chennai.

Day 2: Chennai
Morning visit St George museum and the Government museum. Not to be missed is the Georgetown bazaar. Afternoon visit to the Kalakshetra Foundation.

Day 3: Chennai
Day excursion to Kanchipuram.

Day 4, 5 & 6

Day 4: Covelong
Drive to Covelong and check-in. Later in the day visit Mahabalipuram including the 5 Rathas, Shore temples and cave temples.

Day 5: Pondicherry
Drive to Pondicherry and check into your hotel. Rest of day at leisure.

Day 6: Pondicherry
Sightseeing of Pondicherry followed by cooking demonstration and dinner with a local family in the evening.

Day 7, 8 & 9

Day 7: Tanjore
Drive to Tanjore visiting the Chidambaram temple en route.

Day 8: Tanjore
Today visit Brihadeeswara Temple and the Darasuram temples.

Day 9: Tanjore
Visit Gangaikonda Cholapuram.

Day 10, 11 & 12

Day 10: Chettinad
This morning drive to Chettinad en-route visiting Ranganthaswamy Temple & Rock Fort Temple in Trichy.

Day 11: Chettinad
Explore this heritage region, with it’s beautiful old mansions as well visiting the famous Athangudi tiles makers and visit the local handloom workshops.

Day 12: Madurai
Drive to Madurai and visit the Shree Meenakshi temple during the day, visit some of the local artisans and textile makers. Early evening return to  Shree Meenakshi temple for the evening ceremony.

Day 13, 14 & 15

Day 13: Madurai
Early morning visit to the flower market of Madurai and explore this temple city on foot, visiting the Tirumalai Nayak Palace.

Day 14: Munnar
Drive to Munnar.
Day at leisure to explore or enjoy the facilities of the estate on your own.

Day 16 & 17

Day 16: Backwaters
Drive to the Backwaters and board a famous Keralan Houseboat for a day cruise and overnight on board.

Day 17: Lake Vembanad
After breakfast, drop-off at Philipkutty’s Farm for 2 nights.

Day 18, 19 & 20

Day 18: Lake Vembanad
Day at leisure; explore the region or just relax at this wonderful backwater homestay.

Day 19: Cochin
Drive to Cochin and check-in at your hotel. Evening Kathakali dance performance.

Day 20: Cochin
Cooking demonstration and lunch at Nimmy Paul’s residence.

Day 21 & 22

Day 21: Cochin
Sightseeing of Cochin including seeing the iconic Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church, Santa Cruz Cathedral, Dutch Palace, Synagogue and walk in famous Jew town.

Day 22: Cochin departure
Transfer to the Cochin International airport for flight back home.
