A 12 DAY TOUR enquire nowThis tour is weaved around some of the most exquisite textile villages in the largely unknown Eastern state of Odisha. Start your tour in the bustling city of Delhi, enjoying the Moghul art and architecture of Old Delhi, as well as it’s delicious street food fare. Continue to Bhubaneswar, Odiaha’s capital, and famous for its temples which date back to the from 11th century. Visit the famous textile villages that are dotted around the state, where traditional techniques of crating beautiful textiles has largely gone unchanged over the centuries. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Konark Temple, and the shrine of Lord Jagannath in Puri, believed to be the incarnation of Krishna, and Odisha’s most important deity. Relax at the beaches in Cuttack away from the crowds. Witness the centuries old appliqué work dedicated to the Gods & Goddess. Take a little time to visit a local weaver family who have been weaving for generations.

This morning drive to the beautiful textile villages of Nuapatna and Padmanavpur where you can see stunning Ikat silk sarees being weaved. Interact with the friendly local artisans, get hands-on with the weaving techniques, and do some shopping if you wish. Later you will be driven to Angul. |

Leave Balangir onward to Sambalpur en-route visiting Barapali and the home of the famous winner of the Padma ShriNational Award for Handicrafts, Kunjabihari Meher. Spend some time with his family learn about their unique art. Visit Bargarh and see the Kostha and Bhulia weavers. Later driven on to Sambalpur for the night. |
